Executive Director

Curriculum Vitae

Trevor Laurence serves as the Executive Director of the Cateclesia Institute. He holds the PhD in theological ethics from the University of Exeter, where his research focused on the ethics of Christian performance of the imprecatory psalms.

In addition to his work with Cateclesia, Trevor serves as a ruling elder of Trinity Church (PCA) and as a Research Associate with the Centre for the Study of Bible and Violence.

Trevor is the author or editor of several books, including Cursing with God: The Imprecatory Psalms and the Ethics of Christian Prayer (Baylor University Press, 2022), Violent Biblical Texts: New Approaches (Sheffield Phoenix Press, 2022), and The Story of the Word: Meditations on the Narrative of Scripture (Wipf and Stock, 2017).

Trevor lives with his wife Sylvia and their three children—Tiernan, Jack, and Alasdair—in Winston-Salem, NC.

Board of Directors

Derek Radney—Derek grew up in San Diego, CA and Austin, TX. In 2005, he married Sally, and they have four children. He has served as a pastor at Trinity Church (PCA) in Winston-Salem, NC since 2012. He received a B.A. in philosophy from Wake Forest University (’04), an M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (’07), and a Th.M. from Duke Divinity School (’12).

Louise Finley—Louise is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, certified in Neurofeedback, and focuses on utilizing both modalities with those dealing with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relationship issues, career direction, and more. She currently attends Fellowship Bible Church, but has been involved in churches spanning the breadth of Baptist, Presbyterian, Church of Christ, and nondenominational traditions.

Landon Hobson—Landon is the CEO of Cosmos Corporation, located near St. Louis, MO. Landon is married to Nikki, and they have two boys. Landon is a member of River City Church (EPC). He received a B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, an M.A. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and an M.P.A. in International Economics from Columbia University in the City of New York.
